The Introduction to Food Science Workshop was initiated by Foundation in Science and Technology Program (FIST), Sunway College, organized by Food Science Department, Monash University. The purpose of the workshop is to introduce students who are interested in food science on possible undergraduate options in Monash University upon graduating from FIST.

The introduction talk by Associate Prof Siow introduced the importance of food science technology in modern era especially in resolving food sustainability issue and also innovation in food processing and packaging technology to extend shelf life of food. The presentation also covers on the subjects that would be covered in BSc. (Hons) Food Science and Technology, entry requirements, career options for food science graduates, and also some testimonies.
